2007

August 23rd, 2007
Three days till we leave for the Playa. We test drove the couch. Here are some pics.

The couch went down the drive way very nicely. The rear wheels skidded due to gearing of motor and brakes. Can't ask for more.

I had the remote control. It takes a surprising amount of skill to navigate narrow streets. When it starts to go off a little, I generally panic and slam all the buttons. I quickly learned that this is counter productive.

Here we have reverse gear engaged. Cars were coming.

Coming back down the street.

Turning into the driveway. I may have been going a little fast. Not sure if I knew I was driving. I'm not even in the photo.
The fender hit the driveway due to pot holes and rough ground. This stopped the couch real quick. Keith and Jimi were ejected off the couch when it was partially up. They flew into the shop thinking the couch was going to come down on top of them. But it didn't. It bounced around and continued going out of control into the side of the building. Vicki said the rear wheels were about a foot off the ground. Aron also flew off the fender and got in front of the couch and tried to find the emergency stop button. I couldn't get the thing to stop with the remote control. Finally Aron got it shut off.
The oinly damage was to the fender and Jimi's cigarette

Burners loading giant butterfly in the back ground.

Riding on the fender.
